City of Phoenix, Arizona First
To Go-Live with Hansen 8 XML-Based Web Services Solution
for Assets and Work Management
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
RANCHO CORDOVA, CA, May 16, 2005 – Hansen Information Technologies (Hansen®)
today announced the City of Phoenix, Arizona, Water Services Division as the
first U.S. client to go-live with the Hansen 8 100% XML-Based Customer Service,
Sewer and Work Management solution.
The City of Phoenix has successfully implemented and gone live with Hansen
8 to help the City to manage its 10,491-mile network of water and sewer infrastructure
and related workflow. By utilizing Hansen 8's suite of integrated XML-based
solutions for Customer Service, Water, Sewer and Work Management, city employees
and contractors can better identify inventory assets, record and track condition-based
inspection results, track work histories, record asset-specific job costs,
and respond to citizen complaints. Hansen 8 will help the city better respond
to emergency services, especially sewer main stoppages, and spills.
Hansen 8's ability to support an advanced XML-Based web services architecture
allows governments like the City of Phoenix to provide users with a pure internet
solution for greater efficiency. Hansen 8 is a 100% server-side (i.e. ZERO
client-side software) solution that eliminates the need to load, maintain,
or support application code on a remote PC. Hansen 8 does not require any third-party
plug-ins, adaptors, or message brokers, commonly required in Java and J2EE
solutions.
Phoenix has more than 2 million water and sewer infrastructure assets. As
a previous customer of Hansen, asset inventory data was converted from Hansen
7's data model to Hansen 8's advanced business objects, including over 470,000
completed work orders that are tied to specific assets.
